From leading important discussions in major cities like Geneva and New York to supporting emergency responses around the globe, the team is central to World Vision’s mission.
Join the team as a Humanitarian Policy Advocacy and External Engagement Intern in shaping humanitarian policy and advocacy. Your energy and ideas can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most!
What You’ll Do:
- Monitoring UNSC Schedule: Stay updated on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meetings and votes that could affect humanitarian work around the world.
- Know its Portfolio: Research and stay informed about emergencies happening in Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, especially those impacting children in conflict zones and access to humanitarian aid.
- Help with Documents: Assist in creating important briefings, policy papers, and position papers for both internal and external use.
- Support the Advocacy Response Group (ARG): Help out with internal World Vision ARG meetings by taking notes, tracking updates from country and support offices, and assisting its UN Representative for Humanitarian Affairs with reports from New York.
- Engage Externally: Support World Vision participation in meetings and communications with other NGOs and UN agencies to strengthen its collaborations.

Details
- World Vision Internship Location: In-person from World Vision’s New York Office.
- Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: International Development, International Affairs/Politics, Law or related field.
- Stipend: this internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.
Eligibility
All candidates must meet the following requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) and have a valid US Social Security Number.
- Able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for the entire internship period: 27 January – 25 April.
- Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years).
- Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.
- Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
