Are you a strategic, inspiring leader ready to drive sustainable, equitable impact? As Director of Country Programmes at SNV, you’ll lead its efforts across +/- 22 countries, guiding the design and implementation of strategies and enabling contextually relevant, impactful country programmes and operations. You’ll shape SNV’s geographical strategy and foster cross-country synergies and partnerships to advance our 2030 vision.

Duties and Responsibilities
SNV is seeking an inspirational and strategic executive leader with strong management skills to join as its Director of Country Programmes. As Director Country Programmes, you will play a crucial part in shaping strategy towards the realisation of SNV 2030 strategic framework. In this highly visible role, you will play a pivotal part in the organisation’s mission to enable sustainable and more equitable lives for all.
The ideal candidate for this exciting position will bring a proven track record of leading and inspiring inclusive organizational design processes, with a deep understanding of matrixed organizational working.
Required Qualifications
Your background will entail 15+ years of working in development cooperation in Africa and Asia, with experience in leading technical expertise teams. You are experienced in cooperating with governments and the private sector as well as donor relations. As a strategic-thinking and impact-driven individual with solid influencing skills, you are comfortable in handling complex issues and leading teams in organic change with an adaptive leadership style, as well as navigating team development amidst complexity. You have an in-depth understanding of leading and inspiring inclusive organizational design processes, building capabilities and learning across countries whilst harnessing key cultural characteristics. Above all, you align with SNV vision of a world where across every society, all people live with dignity and have equitable opportunities to thrive sustainably.
This will be a full-time position (40 hours a week) with expected travel of approximately 50%. The position is based in the Hague, the Netherlands, or in a country where SNV has existing presence and registration.
