World Economic Forum is recruiting for a Climate Adaptation Specialist based in Geneva
Overview
The Centre for Climate & Nature (CNC) is a platform that seeks to safeguard World Economic Forum (WEF) global commons and drive systems transformation for a sustainable future. Within CNC, the “Resource Systems and Resilience” (RSR) Program includes the Climate Adaptation Initiative. One strategy of the Climate Adaptation Initiative is to establish regional hubs for business investment in adaptation. The first, the Southeast Asia Partnership for Adaptation through Water (SEAPAW), in a partnership between the Forum and the Singapore International Foundation. It was launched in June 2024.
Why WEF is recruiting
The initiative focuses on helping societies adjust to the actual (or expected) climate and its effects. Despite mounting evidence that climate change is creating large costs for people, businesses and societies, the massive climate adaptation gap reflects the fact that adaptation remains low on the list of priorities of several important stakeholder groups, particularly large businesses, financiers, and governments in the global north. The World Economic Forum established the Climate Adaptation Initiative with the objective helping close the adaptation gap by supporting these groups to take greater action.
The Forum is recruiting a Climate Adaptation Specialist to support the activities of the Climate Adaptation Initiative, especially the SEAPAW program.
