Organisational Overview
Global Girl Project (GGP) is an international charity that mobilises marginalised girls within the Majority World (Global South) to become agents of social change, through community development and social action. GGP was founded nine years ago in the US as a registered 501(c)3 non profit and then became registered in the UK as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2019. GGP works globally, within the Majority World, in partnership with well-established organisations and schools to run innovative and impactful leadership programming for girls aged 13 to 18 years.
Role Overview
The Programme Manager will join a small team working remotely, which is passionate about doing development work in a feminist and anti-colonial way. As part of a small and growing international charity, your role will be integral in driving Global Girl Project programming forward in the coming year, in order to increase its impact.
Global Girl Project is in a period of growth, and is currently expanding its programmes globally. Global Girl Project needs an experienced programme manager, impact measurement practitioner and team leader who can take Global Girl Project programming, fundraising, and impact measurement to the next level. Your focus will be on overseeing its flagship leadership programme, the Global Girl Leadership Initiative, and supporting its global partners and regional programme coordinators to deliver high quality programming and grow our reach.
You will also focus on developing Global Girl Project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning system to improve its impact measurement and management processes, enabling Global Girl Project to better communicate the impact of its programmes. In addition, you will lead on fundraising collaboratively alongside its implementation partners, and you will be able to innovate and drive forward ideas in challenging environments, and will be able to think creatively about new funding and partnership models and opportunities.
In addition, you will focus on developing its Global Graduates Connect programme, Global Girl Project unique network of girls all over the world who have been through its leadership programming and are looking for more opportunity and support. Global Graduates Connect has the potential to be an incredibly powerful space, and Global Girl Project needs someone who can drive ideas into action and develop new models and opportunities for funding something unique within the sector. You will focus on supporting Regional Programme Coordinators to deliver GGC programming, developing and implementing new ideas and projects across our network together with our local partners.
Practicalities
This position is a full-time (4 days a week/32 hours) 12-month contract position with the intention to extend this depending on funding and fit. The candidate will be considered self-employed. You also need to be available during Global Girl Project organisation’s ‘golden hours’ of 10am – 3pm UK time (GMT/BST). The right candidate will need to be able to work flexibly to support global partners, which may include early mornings, evenings or weekends. Global Girl Project anticipate hiring for this candidate within the timezones GMT – GMT+5.5.
As Global Girl Project is a global organisation, the person who is successful with this application will be from and live in one of the regions where Global Girl Project work. Please note that Global Girl Project is not accepting applications from those based in the Global North for this role.
Pay rate: Pay will be benchmarked to similar positions that are based in the location of the successful candidate and adjusted for cost of living for that particular country. This process ensures pay parity across Global Girl Project global team. As a growing feminist charity, Global Girl Project do not offer compensation that is similar to that of much larger international, corporate organisations working in development, so please do consider that when applying. You will be paid in your local currency.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising (35% of time)
- Develop strong and equitable relationships with our implementation partners across the world, with a particular focus on collaborative fundraising and development of new opportunities, acting as a partner to the CEO and Founder.
- Build an ecosystem of partners, providing opportunities for connection, learning and to open up new funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CEO to fundraise for the organisation (including but not limited to grant writing and donor reporting)
Programmes & Impact (45% of time)
- Lead on developing a new curriculum which builds on the work of our Global Girl Leadership Initiative and which supports girls to better make change in their communities and be active in the network.
- Work in partnership with the CEO and Founder to develop the strategy for expansion and development of the Global Girl Leadership Initiative.
- Lead on the strengthening of our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system, with a particular focus on developing our longitudinal data collection, and measuring the impact of networks.
- Oversee the effective running of our programming across the ten global locations it currently operates (with rapid growth expected), through the support and supervision of our Regional Programme Coordinators.
- Lead on the development of a thriving network and ecosystem of girls across the world who are making change in their communities.
Administration (20% of time)
- Oversee the content creation and management of our online learning platform.
- Work alongside our CEO to develop new organisational processes and procedures that align with our values and principles as a feminist charity.
- Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to across our programming.
About You

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
Programmes and Impact
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in programme management and impact measurement.
- At least 3 years experience managing programme teams and international programmes.
- Experience directly delivering programming in at least three of the following regions: Latin America, Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia.
- Experience developing and improving and implementing curriculums designed for young people from marginalised backgrounds, particularly girls.
- Experience developing and managing impact measurement systems, including familiarity with Theories of Change, MEL Frameworks, and data gathering tools.
- Strong data analysis skills
- Experience working in environments with low technology penetration and a low level of understanding and exposure to online tools.
Fundraising
- Experience developing creative ways to fund programmes, including funding partnerships or consortiums and writing successful fundraising proposals
- Experience developing delivery or learning partnerships
Administration
- Experience working in a cross-cultural, international context with an ability to build strong relationships with teams and people from a wide range of backgrounds, countries, and cultures.
- Very strong technical skills, including a high level of comfort with Google Sheets and EdTech platforms
- Strong English speaking and writing skills, including good ability to write reports and funding applications.
- Knowledge of the charitable sector, especially within small charities
- Understanding of development, racial and gender equality models
- An understanding of feminist organisational development and feminist approaches to communications and development
