Reporting Lines
The Graphics Designer will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and with technical guidance from the Chief Technical Advisor and Communications and Reporting Specialist for EbAM Project
Technical Focus
The Graphics Designer will be engaged to design communication and visibility templates and artworks for project banners, posters, t-shirts, golf-shirts, work suits, caps, booklets, newsletter and infographics.
Tasks and responsibilities
In close collaboration with Office of Communications (OCC) branches and appropriate Communication focal points, the incumbent will:
- creating functional and clear templates that can convey the product’s message without interfering with it.
- identifying and developing an overall layout that suits the product type.
- working in consultation with the publication Editor and ensuring that the layout fits the intended audience (from a technical, professional and cultural standpoint).
- submitting design proposals, for the supervisor’s final approval.
- performing three rounds of corrections following OCC/PWS and divisional quality checks; rounds of corrections are to be increased should the incumbent overlook corrections
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Graphics Design.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in graphics designing with the United Nations or international organizations.
- Working knowledge (level C) of English.
Technical/Functional Skills
• Ability to incorporate branding guidelines in designed work
