Are you passionate about feminism, climate justice, and global equality? WECF is looking for a motivated and committed Junior Project Officer to join its international team in supporting the Women Power 2030 Project, a feminist initiative accelerating gender-just action for sustainable development.
In this role, you will support the coordination, implementation, and visibility of a major EU-funded programme, working directly with a diverse consortium of feminist organisations across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. You will be based at WECF international office in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and play a key role in strengthening ecofeminist movements and climate justice actions worldwide.

WECF is now looking for a Junior Project Officer to join its team and support the implementation of its international programmes under the Women Power 2030 project.
Position Summary
The Project Officer supports the Programme Manager in coordinating project activities, managing subgrants, contributing to advocacy efforts, and ensuring smooth administrative and operational processes. The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, and committed to advancing gender equality and climate justice.
Key responsibilities
Project Coordination Support
- Support the Programme Manager with coordinating activities, tracking timelines, and monitoring progress across various WP2030 initiatives.
- Assist the Directors with coordination, reporting, follow-up, and project visibility for the successful implementation of the program.
Grant Management Assistance
- Assist with administering financial sub-grants, ensuring accuracy and transparency in fund allocation, and timely donor reporting.
Communication and Outreach
- Work with the communications team to enhance project visibility, support awareness campaigns, draft social media content, and engage with partners and stakeholders.
Policy Advocacy & Research Support
- Contribute to policy research, drafting advocacy materials, and compiling resources.
- Assist in organising events that promote ecofeminist values and climate justice.
Capacity Building Support
- Help coordinate workshops and capacity-building sessions for civil society and youth groups, including logistics and preparation of training materials.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Track and document project outcomes, collect data for impact analysis, and assist in producing monitoring and evaluation reports.
Administrative & Financial Support
- Provide administrative support for budgeting and financial tracking.
- Coordinate with finance staff and assist in preparing financial reports.
Additional Responsibilities
- Arrange meetings, take minutes, and maintain project documentation.
- Support fundraising efforts, including drafting proposals and supporting donor engagement.
- Assist with travel, event, and workshop logistics as needed.
Your profile
- You are based in the Netherlands
- Master and/or a Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, social sciences, development studies, gender studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project assistance, preferably in climate action, gender equality, or social justice sectors.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills; detail-oriented and reliable.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages (Dutch, French, Spanish) are an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with online collaboration or project management tools is a plus.
- Commitment to WECF’s mission and strong interest in feminist and climate justice principles.
