Background
The Centre for Behaviour Change (CBC) at UCL is a world-leading, interdisciplinary research centre specialising in behaviour change. The CBC aims to advance the science and application of behaviour change by innovating research methods, generating evidence, building capacity and providing practical solutions to complex problems using a systematic approach.
About the role
This Research Consultancy and Training Fellow role is a permanent, full-time core post (1.0 FTE) and will join a team of Centre staff, led by CBC Director Professor Susan Michie and co-Director Dr Fabi Lorencatto. UCL Centre for Behaviour Change is looking to recruit one post at either Grade 7 (Fellow) or Grade 8 (Senior Fellow).
The postholder will join a team of experts in the field of behaviour change, with the primary focus of the role being to contribute to the co-ordination and development of the research consultancy and training activities at the Centre. The role will also involve supporting teaching on BSc/MSc behaviour change modules and developing an academic research portfolio in the candidate’s areas of interest.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties of the post will include identifying and applying for research consultancy opportunities, responding to requests for research consultancy and bespoke training, and leading the delivery of research consultancy and bespoke training projects. These activities will be undertaken with a view to generate publishable research, where possible. The postholder will also contribute to the organisation and delivery of the CBC’s annual International Training Programme as well as supporting teaching activities on the CBC’s third-year BSc module and MSc programme (e.g., supervising MSc research projects, delivering guest lectures, supporting marking). There will be opportunities for engagement in independent research and PhD/postdoc supervision to develop a full portfolio in the area of behaviour change
About you
- The post-holder should hold a first degree and a PhD or Professional Doctorate in a behavioural science.
- They will have excellent knowledge of behaviour change theory and evidence, with experience of designing and delivering research projects, plus teaching and/or training in behaviour change.
- Additionally, the post-holder will have experience of working with non-academic stakeholders, either through prior experience of delivering training/consultancy projects for external customers, or through experience in conducting applied research projects.
