Background

UNICEF is looking for 8 online volunteers to Support the Creation of UNICEF animated characters for different campaign .The world’s largest provider of vaccines, we support child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation.Before, during and after humanitarian emergencies, UNICEF is on the ground, bringing lifesaving help and hope to children and families. Context

The UN Volunteers programme, in its aim to promote and reinforce inclusion and diversity in its programme as well as to make visible the impact of volunteers in their various assignments,
seeks to create high-impact graphic designs pieces that:

The communication material will be used to showcase UNICEF Guinea-Bissau’s work, contributing to raising awareness about the situation of children and UNICEF’s response in the country. The online volunteers will support UNICEF’s efforts towards achieving the SDGs Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

Task description

UNICEF is looking for 8 online volunteer to produce 20 animated characters (1 per week) of UNICEF Guinea-Bissau, in different campaigns, and visibility actions.

Specific tasks:

Create draft of animated characters considering the audience (general public, donors, partners and stakeholders) and UNICEF branding guidelines.
Create draft animated characters on UNICEF requirements and discuss the content with the focal point/communications team.

Make the required revisions following feedback from UNICEF.
Develop the content according to agreed requirements.
The layout/animated characters should follow their corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the online volunteers in advance, as well as additional background documents.
The online volunteers will work under the guidance of Wilson Gama, UNICEF Guinea-Bissau Communication Officer, and in close collaboration with the Communication Associate, Fadel Gomes.

Requirements

The Candidates should have professional experience in creating the animated characters with previous experience. In addition, they should have good verbal and written communication skills.
A degree in graphic design or a related field is considered an asset.
