Are you passionate about digital storytelling, creative content creation, and engaging global audiences through social media? The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is seeking a Communications + Public Affairs Intern to help strengthen its online presence and share the inspiring work happening across its international network. In this role, you’ll use your creativity, writing skills, and visual communication abilities to produce compelling content that highlights FEE programmes, celebrates impact, and builds an active and engaged online community.
The Internship
As FEE Communications + Public Affairs Intern, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s digital voice. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in climate and sustainability communications, giving you the opportunity to create content, support campaigns, and collaborate with programme and communications teams across FEE. You’ll help plan, produce, and publish social media posts; design visuals and short-form videos; monitor engagement; and contribute to the ongoing development of FEE’s social media strategy. It’s an ideal role for someone eager to grow their skills, take initiative, and make a meaningful impact through digital communication.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and schedule content across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook in line with FEE’s tone and strategy.
- Design engaging visuals and short videos using Canva (strong Canva skills are required).
- Create newsletters, handouts, decks, and infographics.
- Write clear, authentic, and original captions and content that align with brand messaging.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to enhance your writing process while ensuring that all final content is fully original and human crafted.
- Monitor and respond to engagement, helping foster positive interaction with our online community.
- Support campaign planning by brainstorming ideas, researching trends, and tracking performance.
Personal and professional skills and qualifications:
FEE is looking for university students and recent graduates with the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in marketing, graphic design, communications, journalism, or a related field. FEE encourages students to apply for this internship as a part of their study programme.
- Strong passion for environmental sustainability and environmental education.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Digitally savvy and willing to learn new digital tools and platforms (FEE use the following tools, but don’t expect you to know how to use all of them – Canva, Hootsuite, CapCut, Squarespace, Flickr, Exposure, Google Analytics, and the Microsoft Office suite – some knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage).
- Familiar with social media platforms and content creation.
- A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
- Team-oriented and supportive, with the ability to work independently.
- A passion for staying updated on industry trends and an eagerness to explore new avenues in communications and digital platforms.
Why join FEE?
At FEE, you’ll be part of a global team committed to addressing some of today’s biggest environmental challenges. As a part of FEE communications team, you’ll have room to take initiative and bring your ideas to life. This internship offers a great learning experience in climate communications within an organisation that values its people and mission. FEE values equality, diversity and inclusion in its workplace and encourage all applicants with a matching profile to apply.
