About IEA
The International Energy Agency (IEA) is a Paris-based autonomous intergovernmental organization, established in 1974, that provides policy recommendations, analysis and data on the entire global energy sector, with a recent focus on curbing carbon emissions and reaching global climate targets, including the Paris Agreement.
Overview
The International Energy Agency (IEA) is launching an application process to identify youth speakers for select events it is organising at COP29, taking place from 11th to 22nd November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. As part of IEA commitment to ensuring that youth voices are meaningfully represented in its engagements, IEA is extending this unique opportunity for young individuals to participate as speakers at its COP29 events.
Please note that this application for Youth Representative at COP29 is open exclusively to youth participants from accredited organisations who are already confirmed to attend COP29. The IEA is unable to provide funding or cover travel expenses for this opportunity.
Requirements
- Be 30 years of age or younger.
- Demonstrated experience in sustainable climate and energy action, including but not limited to: clean energy technology development, just transition, energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy project implementation, climate change adaptation strategies, sustainable finance, or green economy policy development.
- Present on the dates of IEA-led COP events (11-22 November).
- Be part of an accredited organisation.
