Call for Expression of Interest
RES4Africa Foundation is seeking dynamic and committed professionals to join its entrepreneurial accelerator program in renewable energy as mentors. The Mentors for Renewable Energy Accelerator program supports early-stage entrepreneurs in Morocco who are building innovative solutions in the renewable energy space.
About the Mentor Role
Mentors play a critical role in the RES4Africa Foundation accelerator by offering recurring guidance and feedback to entrepreneurs from the very beginning of the program. A mentor is more than an advisor — they are a trusted partner, sounding board, and catalyst for growth.
Ideal Mentor Profile
RES4Africa Foundation welcome expressions of interest from professionals with diverse backgrounds, including:
- Entrepreneurs or start-up founders
- Industry professionals in energy, cleantech, or related fields
- Experts in start-up growth, venture development, or innovation management
Key Responsibilities & Commitment
- Provide up to 5 working days/year (approx. 40 hours annually) of guidance and support
- Build a long-term mentoring relationship with an assigned entrepreneur or team
- Share insights on business strategy, product development, fundraising, and market growth
- Participate in occasional workshops, pitch sessions, or training activities
- Support entrepreneurs in navigating the Moroccan and broader African energy market
Desirable Qualities
- Demonstrated experience in working with startups or innovation ecosystems
- Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities across the African continent. Familiarity with the Moroccan energy and sustainability ecosystem is considered as a plus
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Willingness to commit over time and contribute meaningfully to an entrepreneur’s journey
- Passion for sustainable development and renewable energy
