About the application
IBM invites proposals from organizations working to expand access to learning and workforce development opportunities. IBM seeks AI-driven initiatives that help students, educators, and workers succeed by strengthening education, defining career pathways, or building more resilient workforce systems.
Nonprofit organizations and government entities, including academic institutions are encouraged to submit proposals that could benefit from IBM’s technology, expertise, and collaborative support including:

- IBM watsonx
- IBM Granite
- IBM Cloud
- Data science tools and solutions
- IBM Consulting
- IBM Garage
- IBM Quantum Platform
The IBM Impact Accelerator is a social innovation program that supports communities facing environmental and economic stress around the world, through technologies like AI and an ecosystem of experts.
Each year, the Accelerator selects five organizations requesting pro bono IBM support. Together, selected organizations and IBM design, develop, and deploy technology configured to accelerate, scale, and otherwise optimize specific interventions directly benefiting communities.

Top tips for a strong proposal
- Fully answer every question in the RFP application Be complete and specific in describing your challenge, stakeholders, beneficiaries, goals, data sources, and implementation plan. Ensure that you demonstrate a clear path to impact. Avoid “check‑the‑box” responses. IBM
evaluators will look for clarity, relevance, and specificity. - Align your solution to IBM capabilities Clearly articulate why specific technologies (AI, quantum, cloud, open-source tools) and related expertise are essential to your solution. Demonstrate understanding of how AI will scale impact, strengthen systems, or generate
high‑quality datasets. - Show implementation readiness Describe realistic timelines, milestones, key activities,
and any partners involved. Include risks and mitigation Demonstrate community & stakeholder engagement Explain how educators, learners of all ages, parents, employers, partner institutions, or other stakeholders will be involved in design, piloting, and the long‑term success of the project. Also explain how solution reflects community needs and inclusive access to education or workforce pathways. - Highlight clear, measurable impact Connect your activities to KPIs, expected outcomes,
and number of people who will directly benefit within two years. - Tailor the proposal to your organization’s strengths Use evidence from past work, relevant data, and examples that show your expertise in education or workforce development.
