Request for Proposals: Apply for the National Geographic Society grants to support talented storytellers from across the world
Overview
The National Geographic Society, in partnership with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation’s Safe Water Initiative, invites applications for grants to support storytelling, conservation, and education projects that raise awareness about global freshwater challenges.
RfP will support accomplished and talented storytellers from across the world. A variety of content formats, including, but not limited to, Photography, Film and Video, Mapmaking, Data Visualization, Written Word, Spoken Word, etc. will be considered. Projects that dig deeper into the challenges facing specific communities such as last mile households, low-income households, women and girls, and children face in achieving equitable access to freshwater and how these issues are worsening as freshwater scarcity increases are encouraged. Applications are also encouraged for projects that highlight specific solutions to these challenges, and elevate the voices of individuals, organizations and communities at the forefront.
Applicants should show a record of successful media projects and must submit a portfolio as part of their application packet.
Project size funding
US$ 5.001 – 20.000, US$ 20.001 – 50.000, US$ 50.001 – 150.000
Eligiblity
Eligible Projects: Projects addressing critical freshwater issues through:
- Storytelling on water scarcity in vulnerable regions.
- Innovative solutions for sustainable water use.
- Climate change impacts on freshwater resources.
- Amplifying voices of women, Indigenous Peoples, and marginalized communities.
Eligibility Criteria
The grants to support talented storytellers are open to global storytellers, researchers and conservationists.
Priority: Women, underrepresented groups, and individuals from vulnerable communities.
