Oxfam is Calling for 5 Applicants to Join its Youth Consultation/Advisory Team
Overview
As part of the development of a collaboration and new ways of working with the youth movement for climate and transition in Europe, and in order to guarantee effective co-creation with youth representatives of a common mobilization strategy, Oxfam is seeking to recruit for a period of 3 months from October 1 to December 31, 2024, 5 young people from the youth climate movement in Europe with the time and interest to carry out the functions described below.
Main functions of the role of young people in the youth consultation/advisory team:
- Co-develop the initial ideas based on the outcomes of the meeting on June 27-28, 2024, in Budapest.
- Review and comment on the documents produced by Oxfam in the process of developing the 2024-2027 youth mobilization strategy.
- Take part in key decision-making meetings: we will clarify the exact role of this group and a more detailed timeline.
- Support reaching out and mobilizing young people from other local, national and international related movements and organisations for the listening sessions that the team decides to organize.
Compensation:
200€/day, 1 day a week, 4 days a month -> 800€/month -> 2400€/3months
Selection criteria
- Be a member of a youth(-led) movement or organization in Europe that works with climate and/or social justice and is interested in a potential collaboration with Oxfam in this framework in the future
- Maximum age 30 years
- Having been part of the Budapest meeting is an asset, but not compulsory
- Oxfam will look for gender diversity in the group
- Oxfam will look for geographical balance (Eastern Western Northern Southern Europe)
- Oxfam will look for balance and aim for diversity among the represented organisations and movements (e.g. linking to intersecting struggles such as gender justice and antiracism, representing different types of organization, etc.)
- Time and interest for the period: last trimester of 2024
