Project Description
The Migration Youth & Children Platform (MYCP) is launching a new and exciting initiative to amplify youth voices and perspectives on regional and international migration policy, in line with the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) process.
The GCM Youth Consultations aim to empower grassroots youth and youth-led organizations to take action in line with the GCM objectives, and influence the GCM (and other relevant) policy processes – highlighting youth-led creativity, policy solutions and capabilities. The GCM Youth Consultations are one part of a broader project focusing on the delivery of the GCM objectives, as well as focusing on alternatives to detention, and learning and development of advocates and young migrants.
The GCM Workstream is a core part of the work of MYCP, and will become even more important closer to the 2026 International Migration Review Forum (IMRF). This project is a chance to mobilize young people and influence the outcomes of the upcoming GCM processes. Operating across every region of the world, this project aims to give a voice to young people and grassroots communities in global decision making, and involve them in their future. Migration Youth and Children Platform is looking for passionate, talented, and committed young people to take forward the baton in making this vision a reality.
What to expect?
- Ensure and assess the participation of youth during the regional youth consultations on the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) and in preparation for the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) in 2026. Be involved in the policy forumulation process, and regional decision-making, from start to finish.
- Further advocacy and build capacity among young people on one of MYCP’s key priority, GCM Objective 13: Alternatives to Detention (ATD). Making migration fair, just and a positive experience for all – especially children & youth.
- Encourage MYCP engagement and mobilize youth involvement in migration issues. Empowering young migrants to have their voice heard, and give them the necessary skills and resources to take action for their future.
What MYCP is looking for?
5x Regional Project Leads (across Europe & North America, Africa, Middle East & North Africa, Asia-Pacific + Latin America & the Caribbean)
1x Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist
1x Administrative Officer
