Are you passionate about empowering young people in Europe’s energy transition?  Join EYEN and help shape the future of youth engagement in Europe’s energy transition

EYEN is currently recruiting for three exciting volunteering roles:

The European Youth Energy Network (EYEN) is seeking motivated volunteers to support its mission of ensuring young people have a central voice in Europe’s energy transition. This is your opportunity to step into a dynamic, youth-led organisation and grow both personally and professionally.

Why Volunteer with EYEN?

EYEN is a pan-European network that connects youth organisations, projects and voices at the heart of the energy transition. By volunteering, you’ll become part of a movement that intersects youth leadership, climate action and sustainable energy policy. Unlike many volunteer roles, this opportunity offers more than just time-based tasks – it invites you to take ownership, build practical skills and contribute directly to impactful campaigns.

What the Volunteer Role Involves

As a volunteer with EYEN, you will have responsibilities that may include:

  • Supporting the communications or project teams to develop content, social-media activities, website updates and youth-focused campaigns.
  • Participating in research or advocacy tasks related to youth engagement in energy policy, youth-consumer perspectives on energy, or tasks for special initiatives like the Young Energy Consumers Task Force.
  • Collaborating remotely with a diverse international team of youth professionals – giving you exposure to multicultural teamwork and the energy-sector network.
  • Contributing to event preparation, digital outreach and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to enhance your portfolio in communications, policy, advocacy or project management.
  • Learning about how youth organisations engage with institutions, policy processes and energy-sector stakeholders – a valuable stepping-stone for future careers in energy, sustainability or international development.

Who Should Apply?

This volunteer opportunity is ideal for you if:

  • You are a student or early-career professional who is enthusiastic about energy transition, sustainability and youth leadership.
  • You have a willingness to dedicate your time, energy and creativity to a youth-driven mission.
  • You are comfortable working remotely and collaborating with international teams.
  • You possess good communication skills and are eager to gain hands-on experience in digital media, policy research, advocacy or event coordination.
  • You want to expand your network, build relevant skills, and enhance your resume with a meaningful contribution to the energy transition.

How to Get Involved

Getting started with EYEN as a volunteer is easy:

  1. Prepare your CV and a brief motivation statement explaining your interest in youth-led energy work, the skills you bring and the specific role you are applying for.
  2. Review the available volunteer positions (such as roles in Communications Team, Governance Team, Funding Team, Membership Team).
  3. Submit your application via the EYEN volunteer page, specifying which team you are interested in, attaching your documents and stating your availability.
  4. If selected, you’ll join the volunteer team, engage in onboarding, define your tasks and start contributing to projects alongside youth stakeholders across Europe.
  5. Send your CV and motivation letter to [email protected].
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so don’t wait to apply!

Benefits & Career Impact

Volunteering with EYEN offers more than just experience — it offers transformative value:

  • Gain practical skills in communications, advocacy, project support or research within the energy sector.
  • Expand your professional network with peers, energy organisations and decision-makers.
  • Enhance your career resume, demonstrating initiative, sector-relevance and international collaboration.
