About the ACN Affiliate Program
ACN commitment is to accelerate career pathways of young leaders who can address Africa’s grand challenges in key sectors such as agribusiness, education, healthcare, governance, infrastructure, professional services and the arts. The ACN Affiliate Program is a multi-year contract to recruit program participants and facilitate job and internship opportunities in these 7 sectors. In the application guide, you will find a list of eligibility requirements, documents, and images needed to submit a compelling application.
What ACN Affiliates Do
Located in critical geographies, with a firm background working with young people in Africa, ACN Affiliates have two powerful roles – to improve career readiness in young people and establish employer relationships to secure dignified career opportunities. Affiliates are equipped with ACN’s unique programming to effectively support its vast network of high-potential African youth. This programming includes:
- Program participant training;
- Employer engagement;
- Safeguarding, DEI awareness and enablement;
- Network building strategies; and
- Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting.
ACN will identify and recruit non-profit organisations who work in employability skills training and labour market sectors, with particular preference for those with the following characteristics / focus areas:
- Registration – Non-Profit Organisations / Youth Organisations. Preference will be given to organisations led by Mastercard Foundation alumni
- Location – Must be a national of an African country or an African entity based in Africa working for African customers and/or beneficiaries (preferably youth beneficiaries). Preference can be given to rural organisations;
- Legal Status – Registered company in the country with shareholders MOI and tax clearance certificate less than 1 year old, or Registered non-profit in the country with proof of tax exemption status;
- Region – Operating in Africa, but a preference will be given to organisation operating in Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya to unearth opportunities for scholars;
- Language – English and French
Evaluation Criteria
To be selected as an ACN Affiliate, your organization will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Are you, the founder/senior leader, who is leading and managing your organization?
- Is your organization established in working with young people?
- Is your organization demonstrating impact already?
To be selected as one of ACN Affiliates, you must:
- Demonstrate career service activity;
- Demonstrate success working with young people.
