Overview
A better life for all and meaningful work for its employees – that’s GIZ recipe for success. For more than 50 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a German government company, has supported the global implementation of development policy goals. Together with partner organizations in 120 countries, GIZ is involved in a wide variety of projects. If you want to make a difference in the world and develop yourself in the process, you’ve come to the right place.
Intern in Public Finance Area of activity
The “Public Finance and Administration” Competence Center within GIZ’s Technical and Methodological Department promotes the responsible management of public finances and strengthens the performance of public administrations in development cooperation partner countries. This department plays a quality assurance role in shaping the content of GIZ projects, combining conceptual knowledge based on current scientific research, international networks, process expertise, client knowledge, and implementation experience.
The Competence Center provides technical and methodological advice on the responsible management of public finances, building effective public administrations, anti-corruption and integrity, combating illicit financial flows, and resource governance in our partner countries, particularly in project planning and through expert guidance during implementation.
As a Public Finance intern, you will primarily support the Competence Center in the area of public finance. Due to the new BMZ reform agenda and the German government’s shifting priorities, it is necessary to align the Competence Center’s aforementioned thematic areas with these issues and to revise the thematic concept.
