IPRI is a global Indigenous-led organization at the forefront of the fight against the criminalization, violence, and impunity facing Indigenous Peoples defending their land and territories. IPRI drive the Global Initiative to Address and Prevent Criminalization, Violence, and Impunity—amplifying Indigenous voices and fostering safety, justice, and self-determination.
The Role: Advocacy Coordinator
You will lead IPRI UN and private sector advocacy work—ensuring Indigenous rights are heard and upheld in key international spaces and business arenas:
- Strategic Leadership: Plan and implement IPRI’s advocacy efforts with UN bodies (e.g., UPR, Treaty Bodies, Special Procedures), and corporate accountability mechanisms (UNGPs, OECD, ESG).
- Team Supervision: Guide, coordinate, and empower our advocacy team to meet objectives on time and with impact.
- Partnership Engagement: Work closely with Indigenous partners, NGOs, governments, business entities, and investors.
- Content Creation: Produce UN submissions, case briefs, advocacy materials on criminalization, land rights, and corporate abuses.
- Representation & Networking: Represent IPRI in UN forums, coalitions, working groups, and civil society networks; collaborate with communications to amplify campaign impact.
- Fundraising & Strategy: Support resource mobilization and contribute to organizational strategy and decision‑making.
Ideal Candidate
- Indigenous with deep cultural sensitivity and integrity
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences + ≥5 years UN/Private Sector advocacy
- ≥3 years program coordination experience
- Deep knowledge of Indigenous rights
- Strong writing, communication & networking skills
- Fluent in English; Spanish or French is a bonus
- Willingness to work flexible hours and excel in a fast-paced environment
