Job description

This internship post is open to two candidate intakes during 2025:

  • 1 intern to start mid April 
  • 1 intern to start 1st of September 

Overview

The P&C Employee Experience Intern at Greenpeace International (GPI) will contribute to the development and execution of the tasks of the Employee Experience Team. This role will focus on actively supporting employee lifecycle steps and delivering employee experience-focused projects. You will be part of the GPI People & Culture department, working within the Employee Experience team, and reporting to the Employee Experience Team Lead.

The Employee Experience team plays a pivotal role in executing all employee processes and systems throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to development and progression. The team collaborates with Greenpeace International staff, hiring managers, and line managers to ensure a positive employee experience at every stage.

In this role, you will:

  • Project Support (40% of the time)
    • Support employee onboarding programme review and the implementation of the updated onboarding programme.
    • Assist in staff engagement and communications plan creation and implementation.
    • Help review and update internal information management systems, such as the intranet.
    • Assist in enhancing Greenpeace International staff presentations, communications, and induction materials.
    • Support various other employee experience-related projects.
  • On the Job Learning and Development (60% of the time)
    • Support recruitment coordination activities, including candidate and staff communications.
    • Assist in the onboarding of new employees and interns.
    • Help resolve staff support tickets related to Amsterdam-based staff benefits administration.
    • Assist in managing freelance agreements administration.
    • Ensure HR systems remain up to date.
    • Support the Employee Experience team in fulfilling data and information requests.
    • Contribute to team meetings, providing feedback on assigned tasks.
    • Take full responsibility for delegated tasks and work cooperatively with team members and interns.

Job requirements

  • A degree or coursework in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Interest in HR & Employee Experience, with motivation to develop knowledge and gain experience to support your studies or future career.
  • Some prior knowledge or experience in recruitment, employee experience, or HR administration is beneficial but not required.
  • Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)
  • Interest in employee communications, engagement, visual communications, and presentations.
  • Comfortable with remote work, showing discretion and respect for confidentiality.
  • Organised with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to take initiative and independently develop project deliverables.
  • Open to learning new skills and receptive to feedback.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Alignment with and understanding of JEDIS (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Safety) values.
  • Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.
