Overview
IEA or OECD is hiring for the OECD Internship Programme! The International Energy Agency (www. is currently recruiting interns for various internship opportunities in the Agency, based in Paris.
Opportunities include:
- 1 Internship in the Directorate of Energy Markets and Security (EMS) team to support oil market research, modelling and data tasks.
- 7 Internships in the Energy Technology Policy Division (ETP) in the Directorate of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks (STO) to support data collection, research and analysis in alternative technologies and supportive policies in transport, industry, buildings, hydrogen, biofuels, carbon management, as well as innovation and manufacturing and trade of clean energy technologies.
- 1 Internship in the Energy Minerals Analysis Unit in the Directorate of Sustainability, Technology, and Outlooks (STO), with a background in renewable energies and technologies, energy modelling, or energy/critical minerals policy; python programming skills would be a plus. Responsibilities include data collection, assisting in modelling and drafting, and supporting the organization of meetings and events.
- 2 Internships in the Energy Data Center (EDC) working on data collection and methodologies for development of energy balances for Association and non-member countries and research work on methodologies and data for indicators on energy poverty.
- 1 Internship in the Strategic Initiatives Office (SIO) Member Reviews team to support day-to-day research and analysis of energy policy in IEA Member, Association, and Accession countries across all sectors and technologies.
Eligibility
Internships are open for students who:
- Are enrolled in a full-time degree programme* for the duration of the internship in a field or discipline related to the work of the OECD
- Are available for a minimum internship duration of one month
- Have an excellent command of one of the two official languages of the OECD (English and French) and a working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the other. Knowledge of other languages could be an advantage
- Have good quantitative and IT skills
- Have good drafting and communication skills
- Thrive in a multicultural and international team environment.
The majority of internships are based at the OECD’s headquarters in Paris (France). Internships are primarily allocated to OECD member country nationals, while also open to non-OECD Member country nationals for specific programmes and projects, including across OECD-affiliated bodies and agencies.Â
