Field of activity
The Competence Center for Financial System Development is embedded in the Economic, Employment and Social Affairs Department. It deals with a wide range of topics, including digital financial services, sustainable finance, climate finance, financial inclusion, SME and agricultural finance, insurance, and the promotion of sustainable investments. The task of the Competence Center at GIZ is to develop topics, look for innovative solutions, plan projects and then provide technical and conceptual advice on their implementation. Active knowledge management and international dialogue with German development cooperation partners are of central importance here.
Intern in Financial Systems Development tasks
The Intern in Financial Systems Development will carryout the following roles:
- You provide conceptual support on financial system topics and support the team through independent research work
- You support the preparation and implementation of analyses and projects
- You prepare presentation materials and concept papers on various topics of the competence center
- You support your team in the content and logistical preparation of events and workshops
- You support the team in knowledge management and information exchange
- You take part in general meetings of the team and relevant departments in the company
- You support communication work via social media
Your profile
- You have just completed your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics or related fields or are about to complete your Master’s degree
- You can demonstrate initial experience in the financial sector/financial system development from internships or university work
- You have gained experience through internships or exchange semesters in developing or emerging countries
- You have very good written and spoken German and English skills. Knowledge of French is an advantage
- Experience with social media in a professional context is an advantage
- You have above-average organizational skills, think in a structured manner, work efficiently and in a self-organized manner and can familiarize yourself quickly and comprehensively with new topics
- Last but not least, you enjoy teamwork and have good communication skills
- They are available for 6 months
The internship is only possible if you are currently enrolled, are in further training of which the completion of an internship is an integral part, or if you graduated no more than 6 months ago at the start of the internship.
