Looking for exciting opportunities in climate research? In 2026, the Cluster of Excellence Climate, Climatic Change, and Society (CLICCS) at the University of Hamburg will fill 28 doctoral positions and 28 postdoctoral positions – across the natural and social sciences.
Together with its partners CLICCS is building an interdisciplinary team to investigate climate dynamics, climate-related social dynamics, and the interactions between the two. The first job postings are already online, and more will follow in the coming weeks.
Overview
The Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS) at University of Hamburg investigates climate dynamics and climate-related social dynamics as well as the interactions between the two. To this end, CLICCS is looking for colleagues from a wide range of disciplines, including the natural sciences as well as the social sciences. CLICCS is proud to work together in a truly integrating manner.
In addition to job advertisements from the University of Hamburg, you will also find some from CLICCS partners, e.g. Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Helmholtz Centre Hereon, and German Climate Computing Centre. Together, they are all part of CLICCS. In 2026, there will be 28 doctoral positions and a further 28 postdoctoral positions to be filled. The first job postings are out, and CLICCS will be publishing more gradually over the next few weeks.
