Area of ​​activity

The Internal Communications and Consulting Group within Corporate Communications implements the Executive Board’s information and dialogue offerings, informs employees and managers about company-relevant topics, and contributes to a sense of identity with GIZ. It also supports colleagues with communication issues and advises, networks, and trains communicators worldwide. 

Your tasks

The Internal Communications and Consulting intern will:

  • Support in researching, editing and coordinating internal news, short reports and (video) contributions on the diverse topics of GIZ
  • Updating, maintaining and further developing the Integrated Digital Applications (IDA) as GIZ’s social intranet
  • Assistance in the further development and implementation of dialogue formats and events between the Board of Directors, managers and employees
  • Support in the consulting portal, the company-wide portal for all questions relating to communication, including answering inquiries by email and telephone, statistical evaluation of inquiries and preparation of results
  • Support of community management for the online community of GIZ communicators, including monitoring new contributions, answering inquiries, and writing own contributions
  • Organization of the regularly held, department-wide, digital exchange format “Speed ​​Academy”: topic selection, scheduling, moderation, and documentation

Your profile

  • You have a degree in media/communication sciences, journalism or a comparable course of study with completed basic studies.
  • You have strong language skills and initial editorial experience in various media formats – from conception to product (work samples desired).
  • You have a digital mindset and knowledge of common formats, applications and apps for digital communication.
  • Experience in event management and/or monitoring communication measures is an advantage.
  • You are characterized by an efficient and reliable way of working, you enjoy taking on responsibility and work well in a team.
  • You are also enthusiastic about topics related to international cooperation, have an interest in the content and working methods of corporate communications, and are familiar with the requirements for formats of employee communication and consulting.
  • You have knowledge of Microsoft 365 (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel Outlook) as well as video and image editing with graphics programs (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud with Photoshop and Premiere Pro).
  • You speak German at native level and have very good English skills.

Notes

The internship is only possible if you are currently enrolled, are enrolled in a further education program that includes an internship, or if you have completed your studies no more than six months ago at the start of the GIZ internship. The monthly intern salary is €2,205.04 (gross).
