Exciting Funding Opportunity: Apply now for the African Union Peace Fund (Funding Cycle 2028)

The African Union Peace Fund is pleased to Call for Applicants, inviting eligible beneficiaries to apply for Peace Fund financing in support of initiatives under its Programmatic Windows.

Overview

The African Union (AU) Peace Fund is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for Peace Fund financing, inviting eligible beneficiaries to submit applications for funding in support of peace related initiatives under the African Union Peace Fund’s programmatic windows.

In accordance with Executive Council Decision EX.CL/Dec.1279(XLVI), which approved the Modalities and Methodologies for Utilization and Contribution of the African Union Peace Fund, the beneficiaries of the AU Peace Fund under the programmatic windows are:

Member States of the African Union;
Regional Economic Communities (RECs);
Regional Mechanisms (RMs); and
The Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) Department of the African Union Commission.

The Peace Fund supports activities that align with its three thematic windows:

Mediation and Preventive Diplomacy
Institutional Capacity
Peace Support Operations

How To Apply

The application period will remain open from 1 August to 31 August 2026, after which all submitted applications will undergo a structured assessment process beginning with a preliminary review of applications. Eligible applicants will subsequently be invited to submit full project proposals for technical evaluation and ranking before the selection and notification of successful applicants in accordance with the approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the AU Peace Fund.
