The Local Leadership Labs initiative is in search of a video producer to create three to five short videos about the prototypes developed by the LLL Convening Partners. Introduction to CIVICUS

Local Leadership Labs

The Local Leaderships Lab (LLL) is a pilot initiative aimed at tackling some of the barriers (political, technical, behavioural) preventing governments, donors and other stakeholders from adopting and delivering on commitments that recognize, enable and resource diverse local civil society groups as key development actors in their own right. The initiative supports radically inclusive spaces where local civil society groups can drive, alongside other key actors and decision-makers, the development of context-appropriate policies and solutions and seeds trans-local spaces for cross-pollination, reflection and strategizing.

Objectives

The primary objective of this consultancy is to support the CIVICUS LLL Team with the production of a series of short videos to introduce the LLL prototypes. Its primary audience is CIVICUS members, partners and its digital audiences across its social media platforms. The number of videos will be between three and five, with the exact number to be decided on by CIVICUS, based on the LLL initiative’s work plans and priorities. Each video will be a minimum of 40 seconds and a maximum of 3 minutes.

Scope of Work

The small series of short videos should visualise the work of the LLL in creative and engaging ways. The production of the series will use existing materials of content and pictures. No direct filming by the video producer is required. However, if more content is deemed necessary, the consultant should possess the ability to propose prompts to guide material submission for integration into the video.

The content must be accessible for audiences diverse in locale, culture, language and special needs.

Deliverables

The consultant will:

Produce a series of three to five digital videos, with a minimum length of 40 seconds and a maximum of three minutes for each video;
In collaboration with the CIVICUS LLL team, decide on the style most appropriate, including animation and others (CIVICUS is open to creative approaches);
Engage in script editing as required to fit the video production needs;
Use appropriate background music, clips, or artworks;
If more content is necessary, provide creative prompts for video content submission.
Ensure that all videos adhere to the highest quality standards of the industry;
Work closely with the CIVICUS LLL team to ensure the deliverables are in line with the LLL initiative expectations and the CIVICUS Brand guidelines.

CIVICUS must have the final rights to use all content freely.

Experience and Skills

You are committed to the work of civil society and your values are in line with CIVICUS’;
You have technical knowledge, skills, background and expertise in producing short videos, including in different styles such as animation, documentary and others; · You can provide at least 4 (four) work samples; · Your experience working on videos with civil society or international development sector agencies will be an advantage;
In addition to technical expertise, you have a collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, innovative and creative mindset, demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to ethical conduct, including the protection of sensitive data and compliance with industry standards.

Estimated Timeframe

The approximate timeline for this consultancy is between February and March. Please provide information on the projected timeline needed to produce each video in the series.

A portfolio of relevant work, showing at least 4 relevant work samples;
Detailed workplan, including the proposed timeline for each video in the series;
Detailed financial quotation (in US Dollars) and a full budget breakdown, including per-component/day/hour rate, number of work hours/days envisioned for this consultancy and any additional costs. Please note that the typical CIVICUS consultancy fee ranges from USD 300–350 per day.
