Centre for Sustainability Transitions is recruiting for three (3) Researcher positions

The Centre for Sustainability Transitions is on the lookout for three researchers to fill the following positions:

1. Researcher/Senior Researcher: Fonseca Leadership Programme to Rejuvenate CBNRM and Wildlife Economy in Africa:

The CST is seeking an exceptional researcher to advance research under the theme of sustainability transitions in CBNRM and wildlife economies at the CST. The candidate will play a central role in the Lifethroughwildlife and Fonseca Leadership Programme led by Prof Brian Child (University of Florida and a CST research fellow). The Researcher position can be at Researcher or Senior Researcher level, and CST will consider exceptional early through to mid-career researchers. The incumbent will work with project leads, partners and Fonseca Fellows to conceptualise and implement a regional research-to-impact initiative, focusing on CBNRM governance and wildlife economies across southern Africa. This builds on a significant upfront investment by the Lifethroughwildlife programme, which has trained over 90 leading CBNRM managers and established CBNRM anchor research sites in multiple countries to develop and evaluate participatory governance.

2. Researcher/Senior Researcher/Associate Professor: Biodiversity and the Economy:

The CST seeks a candidate who can play a leading role in the CST’s research on biodiversity-economy connections and lead a new AFD-funded project, working with project PI, Dr Hayley Clements and other researchers at the CST. The Researcher position can be at Researcher, Senior Researcher or Associate Professor level.

3. Researcher/Senior Researcher: Southern African Resilience Academy:

The CST seeks a researcher for the Southern African Resilience Academy, based at the CST, at the level of a Researcher or Senior Researcher. This is a three-year part-time contract position, at 70% of full-time, based at the CST in Stellenbosch. The role of the researcher is to coordinate the second round of the SARA working groups, including guiding working group activities, convening synthesis workshops and research products, and facilitating the dissemination of research and knowledge outcomes.
