Call for Delegates: Apply now to attend the 20th Conference of Children and Youth on Climate Change (COY20) in Brazil

Call for Delegates

The Conference of Youth (COY) is the world’s largest and most significant youth gathering on climate change, organized by YOUNGO; the Official Children and Youth Constituency of the UNFCCC. It is officially recognized and endorsed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as the preparatory space for youth ahead of the annual UN Climate Conference (COP).

COY20, the 20th edition of the Conference of Children and Youth, will take place in Belém, Brazil, from 6–8 November 2025, just before COP30. It will bring together children and young people from across the globe to build capacity, strengthen advocacy, and co-create the Global Youth Statement, the collective input of youth to the UNFCCC process.

YOUNGO is now inviting applications from motivated young leaders to join the Delegation to COY20. Delegates will represent their communities, engage in international youth climate diplomacy, and contribute to shaping the global youth climate agenda leading into COP30.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Aged at the time of COY20 be below 35 years of age.
  • Demonstrated interest or engagement in climate action, youth leadership, or policy advocacy in Local / Regional and/or International level engagements.
  • Commitment to actively participate in Pre & Post COY20 delegation preparations, meetings, and follow-up activities.

YOUNGO seeks diverse and passionate youth who can:

  • Represent their community, country, or region at an international level
  • Contribute to COY20 discussions and outcomes with strong local perspectives
  • Engage in climate justice, policy, or grassroots action work
  • Bring back learnings and commitments from COY20 to strengthen climate action at home

Final selections will ensure a balance across gender, regions, and thematic expertise. Apply now to be part of Delegation to COY20 and shape the global youth climate agenda!
