Application Process

GYCT invite participants to apply for the bursary by outlining their need and describing their plans for engagement and advocacy at COP.

A strong application will:

  • Be well-researched. Make sure you review the links GYCT has provided, and do thorough research about COP30 and the GYCT. This will help you to write your application with a good understanding of what you can achieve at COP, how you align with GYCT goals and why GYCT should select you.
  • Refer to the assessment criteria. GYCT want you to demonstrate that you 1) are a climate leader with a history of creating impact 2) have clear plans for engagement and advocacy at COP30 3) are dedicated to GYCT’s mission and will bring useful resources to our team.
  • Use an overarching narrative. GYCT recommend writing your application on a separate document before uploading to the form. This will enable you to read over your answers and ensure you have a clear message throughout your application.
  • Be authentic. While GYCT recognise the value of AI tools, applications directly copied from AI will be penalised. GYCT want to hear from you! Be honest about your experience, the challenges you have faced and your hopes for COP. Reflect on your motivations and be realistic about what you can achieve at COP.
