About the Program

The Mastercard Foundation Associates Program connects talented young people with 12-month internships across Africa. The program works through partnerships with external organizations and Foundation partner organizations to support Associates in developing leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills following graduation.

Discover the Mastercard Foundation Associates Program

Since 2023, more than 1,000 Associates in 22 countries have participated in the program, including young women, persons with disabilities, refugees, and internally displaced persons.

The Associates Program connects young Africans, particularly recent graduates and Mastercard Foundationย Alumni, with 12-month paid work placements, employability and enrichment training, and mentorship that help them gain practical experience and transition into dignified and fulfilling work.

The Program Includes:

  • 12-month paid work placements with host employers
  • Structured employability and enrichment training
  • Mentorship and professional development support
  • Access to Mastercard Foundationโ€™s Pan-African network of young professionals

Who Can Apply

  • Recent graduates with 0โ€“2 years of work experience
  • Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Alumni
  • Alumni of Mastercard Foundation programs
  • Young people, age 18 to 35, across Africa seeking meaningful earlyโ€‘career experience
