Overview
Introducing a NEW fellowship program for early-career professionals in Central and Eastern Europe! The Clean Air Task Force CEE Fellowship: Empowering energy and climate leaders of tomorrow is a transformative fellowship program that aims to empower the next generation of Central and Eastern European policy experts and thought leaders to develop resilient decarbonisation pathways for the CEE region.
Early-career professionals with 2-5 years of working experience in the climate and energy space are encouraged to apply. During this 8-week program, fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with Clean Air Task Force experts, engage in rigorous learning sessions, and connect with exceptional peers and key stakeholders in the energy and climate space.
Empowering energy and climate leaders of tomorrow
This transformative eight-week program is for early-career professionals committed to tackling the complex challenges of the energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Up to eight fellows will collaborate with Clean Air Task Force (CATF) experts, engage in rigorous learning sessions, and will have an opportunity to get connected with peers and key stakeholders in the energy and climate space.
Clean Air Task Force CEE Fellowship Program structure
Online modules
During the first seven weeks fellows will participate in online modules delivered by CATF experts on a wide range of climate and energy topics, as well as practical sessions on effective advocacy, climate change communication, and social media engagement.
Workshop in Brussels
During the last week (Week 8) fellows will participate in a two-day workshop in Brussels including advocacy training, public speaking training, guest speakers, presentations, and a networking event.

- Participate in CATF events, including speaking engagements.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of working experience in the climate/energy space.
- Affiliated with a think tank, NGO, academic institution, government agency, or other relevant organization operating in any of the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university in economics, environmental science, engineering, political science, sociology or similar (Master’s degree preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (minimum C1 level).
- A sincere interest in tackling climate change issues and the energy transformation in their home country.
- Possess a high level of intellectual curiosity and humility.
- Applicants must be available to travel to Brussels for an in-person workshop during the week of October 27, 2025. All expenses will be covered.
CATF strive to foster a diverse and inclusive environment by prioritising gender representation and ensuring geographical balance. To achieve this, CATF aim to limit the number of individuals from any single country to 1-2 per cohort, promoting equitable opportunities and a broader range of perspectives.
