SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) is proud to launch the first edition of this entrepreneurship capacity-building programme, dedicated to advancing the careers of women energy entrepreneurs from the SADC region. The initiative is led by the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) in collaboration with SACREEE, with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

The 6-months capacity-building programme seeks to empower women entrepreneurs or owners of an energy-related business to advance their businesses through expert and industry role models. The training is limited only to business soft-skill training and does not include technical technologies training. The Capacity-Building Programme for Women Energy Entrepreneurs is only open to individuals who identify as women and have SADC nationality. Applicants should also be able to commit to attending virtually / online roughly 8 hours per month towards the programme.

This initiative aims to empower women-led entrepreneurs to drive sustainable energy solutions in the region. Women entrepreneurs in the areas of solar thermal, energy efficiency and productive use of energy will be given preferential consideration. The capacity-building programme DOES NOT provide capital funding but facilitates enterprise financing through matchmaking and linking entrepreneurs with potential funders. If you identify as a woman and are interested apply for this programme.
