Background

The Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs develops evidence-based research to help address the world’s most challenging energy and climate problems through research, education, and dialogue. CGEP accomplish this by: producing best-in-class research, providing a global platform to communicate, and training tomorrow’s leaders and communicators.

Overview

The David Leuschen Global Energy Fellows Program is a year-long program designed to:

  • Challenge students to think critically on relevant energy-related issues
  • Facilitate engagement between Columbia students and experts at CGEP
  • Provide Columbia’s brightest energy-focused graduate students with opportunities to build a career in energy.

Eligibility

The program will accept 15 students this year. Students will be notified of their acceptance in October. To be eligible, students must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student (including PhD) at Columbia University for the duration of the program, with a graduation date of May 2026 or later.
