Overview
As a WBG Youth Summit Steering Committee member, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and execution of the Youth Summit 2025. You will work closely with the other Youth Summit Steering Committee members to make next year’s Summit a success.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be 35 years old or younger as of 06/30/2025.
- Have a contract duration of at least 1 year with the World Bank Group (i.e., staff, ETC, ETT, STC, STT) or the IMF (The Manager and Deputy Manager positions are only open to WBG employees (including IFC) and not IMF employees).
What is the World Bank Group Youth Summit?
The World Bank Group (WBG) Youth Summit (the “Summit”) is the largest worldwide annual gathering of youth (18-35 years old) hosted by the WBG to engage participants from around the world on the most pressing topics facing their generation. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary recently, the Summit’s mission is to:
- Empower youth to explore innovative ideas tackling development challenges
- Provide youth with the tools to build and engage in impactful development projects
- Promote dialogue among youth, the WBG, and other key stakeholders globally
The Summit is managed and run by young WBG professionals on a voluntary basis that form the Youth Summit Steering Committee (YSSC). Every year the Summit focuses on a theme that is important to young generations and is decided on by the Steering Committee. Previous themes of the Summit are:

The Summit is an interactive event that takes place over two days, featuring plenary sessions, workshops, and a global pitch competition focused on a development theme. Young people from around the world can participate by attending in Washington DC, attending virtually through a closed platform, contributing via a regional office, or submitting an idea to the pitch competition.
The structure and theme of the Summit are decided by the YSSC, which brings its own ideas to build upon and improve past Summits. The event’s characteristics are open for change and can be modified by the new YSSC, particularly to incorporate a virtual experience.
