Field of Activity

The GIZ Development Policy Forum supports the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in the organizational and methodological conception, design and implementation of development policy dialogue processes for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. These contribute to the positioning of German development policy along the priorities set by the management of the BMZ, promote the participation of strategically important actors and strengthen the substantive development of approaches in the provision of services in German development cooperation.

Tasks

During the Development Policy Forum Internship, the intern will:

  • Support in the organizational and logistical management of events with high-ranking, international guests
  • Assistance with the content, technical and organizational preparation of conferences and workshops
  • Support in cooperation with event service providers and communication with the partners and actors relevant in the event context, including preparation of presentations, minutes, on-site support and digital
  • Support with invitation, participant and travel management
  • Support in maintaining digital knowledge management
  • Support in the control and coordination of individual management processes in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of events
  • Assistance with cross-cutting issues on behalf of the company (especially diversity and gender, sustainability)
  • Taking on short-term tasks in day-to-day business

Required Profile

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in event management, political or social sciences or similar.
  • You have initial experience in the field of development cooperation / international cooperation
  • First practical experience in event management
  • You are characterized by open-mindedness, teamwork, initiative, intercultural sensitivity, reliability, strong communication skills and organizational skills
  • You work carefully and in a structured manner, even under high time pressure
  • You have experience in the efficient design of workflows and administrative processes as well as the ability to find pragmatic problem-solving solutions
  • Very good written and spoken skills in both German and English, additional foreign language skills are an advantage
  • We expect digital competence, including in digital communication and cooperation, as well as very good user knowledge of the usual MS Office programs
