Overview

The Florence School of Regulation (FSR) is offering 6 EUI Widening Europe Programme scholarships for the FSR Research School Week: 3 for the Loyola Autumn Research School (LARS) and 3 for the Energy Law Research School. The scholarship will cover the course registration fee and provide funding for travel and accommodation in Florence for the full duration of the training courses.

The EUI Widening Europe Programme aims to strengthen connections between the European University Institute (EUI) and national higher education institutions in designated Widening countries by offering shared activities for early-stage researchers, fellows, senior academics, and administrative staff. Supported by contributions from the European Union and EUI Contracting States, the programme provides PhD scholarships, postdoctoral fellowships, mobility grants, summer schools, fieldwork opportunities, seminars, and workshops for the academic community in these targeted countries.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Hold nationality in one of the targeted EUI WEP countries
Be affiliated with a higher education institution and/or public research centre in any of the targeted EUI WEP countries

(Applicants should be able to provide documentary evidence of their eligibility if selected.)

The selected candidates will also be required to upload:

CV (max. 2 pages)
Abstract (600–800 words)
Motivation letter for the LARS course (max. 2,500 characters)

List of Targeted Widening Countries

Within the European Union:
Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Outside the European Union:
Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo(¹), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

A selection committee composed of FSR representatives will review all applications and announce the scholarship recipients by 31 May 2025 at the latest.
