The YALI RLC SA Online Cohort 22 and Hybrid Cohort 27 will be held on:
Hybrid Cohort 27: Online from February 17th – March 14th, 2025. In-person from March 17th – April 4th, 2025.
Online Cohort 22: Fully virtual from February 10th – March 28th, 2025.
Overview
The YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (RLC SA) provides young African leaders between the ages of 18-35 with the necessary skills, tools and opportunities to better serve their communities and countries. The programme offers in-person and online training in Business and Entrepreneurship, Civic Leadership and Public Management and sector specific programmes.
What the programme offer
The YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa programme offers 4-7 weeks of intense online or in-person training in Business and Entrepreneurship, Civic Leadership, Public Management, Education and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) with post training exposure to: Grant Funding Opportunities, Networking, Collaboration, Tools and Resources.
Representation
YALI RLC SA alumni are between the ages of 18 and 35 and represent 14 countries across the Southern African Region: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
Who should apply?
The program is open to young African leaders who meet the following criteria:
- Age (18-35)
- English language proficiency
- Portuguese for its Portuguese language program
- A commitment to positively impact Africa, their countries and communities.
- Commitment to serve the development agenda of the African continent.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and interest in Public Management, Entrepreneurship Development and Civic Leadership
- Young leaders from the following countries are eligible to participate in the programme: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Kingdom of Eswatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The programme encourages applications from:
- Rural based and economically disadvantaged young leaders
- Young leaders with disabilities
- Women
- People who are HIV positive or who are living with AIDS
- Individuals that represent and advocate for the rights of LGBTQIA+ communities across the region
- Other minority groups
