International scholarships
In line with its internationalization strategies for increasing incoming mobility and attractiveness to foreign students, the University of Milan gives its international students the possibility to be offered scholarships and exemptions from tuition fees.
Excellence scholarships
For academic year 2025/2026, 160 incentives are available to the best international students admitted to a Master’s degree programme, of which:
- 60 scholarships worth € 8,000 each, with the right to exemption from the all-inclusive tuition fee
- 100 total exemptions from the all-inclusive tuition fee
The grants contribute to the constitution of total income and are subject to Irpef taxation since they are assimilated to employee income. “Excellence Scholarships” are awarded by an ad-hoc Commission among all those who applied for admission to a Master’s degree programme by 31 May 2025. You don’t have to apply. In July, the beneficiaries will receive a formal email confirming the grant.
Programmes
International students with valid qualifications who pass the admission tests can enrol in any programme offered by the University. Certain programmes are wholly or partly taught in English or confer international qualifications.
Enrolment procedure for international students
International students can enrol in the same way as Italian students but may be subject to additional procedures:
- documentation requirements
- pre-enrolment for non-EU students resident abroad
- proficiency in the Italian language
- conversion of grades and qualifications obtained abroad.
