The Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) is a cross-university platform for academic and research collaborations between the University of Oxford and African researchers and institutions. The Initiative aims to support the work of universities and research institutions across Africa and to facilitate the development of equitable and extensive collaborations between Oxford and African institutions.
RAIN Fellowship Overview
Research Alpha is pleased to announce Rain Fellowship, in partnership with Africa Oxford Initiative. The fellowship is designed to support exceptional mid-career African researchers to collaborate with industry partners and Oxford-based scholars to develop research that addresses real-world industry challenges.
Research Alpha is looking for 5 mid-career researchers from African universities and research institutes who focus on the application of AI and emerging technologies in the Energy, Agriculture, and Health Sectors. The fellows will be matched to an Africa-focused industry partner and work together to refine their research focus on industry-relevant questions.
The fellowship is 12 months long, with two months in-person residency in Oxford. Applicants will be required to identify a potential collaborator based in Oxford University and an industry-relevant research focus before submitting their application.
