Applications are now open for the 42nd Edition of the RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational School Training (20 scholarships available)

Overview

RES4Africa Foundation, together with Strathmore University and with the support of the key partner Enel Foundation, is launching the 42nd edition of the RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational School Training (former MGA). The training sessions will be held in person from the 15th to the 19th of September 2025.

This edition will focus on Micro-Grid Academy – Module #3 – DRE system design, O&M and safety, and aims to provide students with a comprehensive overview of a wide set of technical topics, such as: engineering and design of off-grid hybrid systems, load analysis and software-based design using HOMER, operation and maintenance of renewable energy systems, energy monitoring and inspections, safety protocols and environmental hazard management in DRE settings.

Eligibility

The target beneficiaries will comprise 25 participants, among students, technicians, operators, managers, entrepreneurs and other RE professionals from all African States. Applicants under 30 and women of any age are particularly encouraged to apply. The course will be held physically at Strathmore Energy Research Centre (SERC) in Nairobi, Kenya, with possible field visits and additional practical training at other partners’ facilities also in Nairobi.

Upon successful completion of the RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational School training, a certificate of attendance will be granted to the trainees who have attended at least 70% of the total amount of training hours and successfully completed the final exam and survey.

For this course, RES4Africa Foundation, thanks to the support of Enel Foundation, will grant 20 partial scholarships to early applicants according to their profile, academic and professional background, and motivation.
