About the Postgraduate Research Scholarship Competitions

For Autumn 2026 entry, University of Warwick is delighted to offer Postgraduate Research Scholarships across several schemes. You submit a single scholarship application and are automatically considered for all funding for which you are eligible.

Scholarship Offer

All scholarships include:

  • Full payment of your academic fees.
  • A maintenance stipend to support your living costs, please refer to each scheme for details of stipend value.
  • The opportunity to study either full-time (100%) or part-time (60%), dependant on your visa status.
  • Up to 40 days annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time PGRs).
  • Support to suspend your studies temporarily if needed.
  • Access to additional support for disabled PGRs.
  • Personal and professional development opportunities designed to enhance your postgraduate research experience and outcomes.

Some schemes include additional support.

Eligibility

All applicants must:

  • Apply for a Postgraduate Research Course at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2026. Eligible courses include:
    • PhD
    • MPhil/PhD
    • EngD
    • Entering the PhD stage of an MRes+PhD
  • Start in academic year 2026/27- scholarships cannot be deferred to a future academic year.
  • Not be a current Postgraduate Research student unless a specific scheme explicitly allow it.
  • Unless otherwise stated, be from any discipline.
  • Unless otherwise stated, be of any nationality or fee status.

Some schemes have additional eligibility criteria.

Key Deadlines

  • Course Applications – 8 December 2025 16:59 (GMT)
  • Scholarship Applications – 11 December 2025 16:59 (GMT)
  • Offers released – 23 February 2026

How to Apply

University of Warwick strongly advise preparing applications well in advance of the deadline, it is not usually possible to complete and submit an application in less than 36 hours and University of Warwick cannot accept applications after the stated deadlines.

1Read the Applicant Guidance Notes.
2Submit your course application by the course application deadline.
3Receive an automated e-mail with a 7 digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this to arrive.
4Register your ITS applicant account. Please note that the Doctoral College cannot help with issuing of ID numbers.
5Submit your scholarship application and any required supporting documents by the scholarship application deadline.
6Results of the Scholarships will be communicated by email by the start of 23 February 2026.
