African Union Youth Division is calling on all youth across Africa to submit their applications to participate in the Beijing +30 Youth Consultations!
Youth Application for African Regional Participation in Beijing+30 Reviews
The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BDPfA) is a key agreement that has guided global work on gender equality for almost 30 years. As BDPfA approach its 30th anniversary, it’s crucial that young people from all regions are actively involved in continuing this work. The BDPfA remains highly relevant for today’s youth as they confront and challenge persistent gender issues, yet many still face barriers to meaningful participation in decision-making processes.
To address these challenges, BDPfA is organizing workshops designed to strengthen young people’s knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage with the BDPfA regional reviews. By linking this global framework to regional contexts, these workshops will aim to support young leaders to advocate for gender equality and drive meaningful change in their communities.
Programme Outline
FEMNET, the African Union Commission, UNFPA, UNDP, UNECA and UN Women is inviting interested participants to engage in this process. By applying for the in-person meeting, you are also confirming your availability for the virtual consultations. Two virtual workshops will be convened to ensure broad youth engagement ahead of the Beijing+30 (B+30) Africa Regional Review. These workshops will be followed by an in-person consultation, where participants will help develop a Youth Africa position.
Contributions can be submitted in a format that best suits individual preferences. If desired, responses may be provided in an alternative format, such as an audio or video file, by uploading them using the file upload feature in the last question of this form. This option is offered to ensure accessibility and is entirely voluntary.
