Calling All Impact Entrepreneurs!
FINCA Ventures Prize & CLIC Connector is pleased to share details of a call for proposals currently accepting applications from Sub-Saharan Africa agri-businesses integrating climate and nature positive practices into their operations.
ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC) has partnered with FINCA International to support impact-driven enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa.
Agri-SMEs that are ready to scale, seeking commercial capital, and actively integrating climate- and nature-positive practices into their operations are encouraged to apply under the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems category.
Selected SMEs may receive technical assistance, funding, or both. SMEs selected for CLIC’s program will also have the opportunity to pitch at the CLIC-AFSF Climate & Nature deal room at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali in September 2026
Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (FINCA Ventures Prize & CLIC Connector)
Companies should apply through this category if they offer an innovative solution that supports the development of more sustainable agriculture and food systems.
Key areas of interest include solutions that strengthen agrifood value chains and improve outcomes for farmers and the environment. This may include but is not limited to improving access to sustainable inputs, financing, agricultural knowledge and extension services, irrigation and mechanization, digital tools, climate and weather-related information, insurance products, post-harvest management, market access, and offtake opportunities.
What is the difference between the FINCA Ventures Prize Competition & CLIC Connector Program?
The CLIC-Connector program provides hands-on technical assistance to help agribusinesses articulate and evidence the climate and nature impacts of their business models, strengthen their investment case, and connect with potential investors. Agribusinesses apply to this program under the “Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems” category. (Learn more on the About the CLIC-Connector page.)
The FINCA program is a prize competition that supports rising African entrepreneurs leveraging innovative technologies and designing disruptive business models. SMEs can apply to the competition under two different categories (1) “Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems” and (2) “Fintech for Financial Inclusion”. How To Apply
FINCA Ventures Prize & CLIC Connector encourage entrepreneurs to read more about each of the programs and eligibility requirements through the FAQ pages before you apply.
To submit an application, create an account by entering your email address on the official page and then answer all questions posed in the application. You are able to download a sample application for each of the categories to prepare your responses. Applications do not need to be completed in one sitting- you can save your application and return back to it before the deadline. The application deadline is April 10th, 2026 at midnight (GMT-4).
